Research CAN HELP Spot Soldiers at an increased risk for Workplace Violence: – THURSDAY, Oct. 8, 2015 – – With a newly developed computer model, experts could actually successfully predict which 5 % of U.S . Army soldiers committed a lot more than one-third of all major Army workplace violent crimes over a six-year period. The researchers said that the model could help identify service members who want intensive interventions. Such interventions, they suggested, might help prevent this kind of violence. The truth that the model identifies such a higher proportion of violent crimes is especially exciting because the variables found in the model are routinely collected administrative data the Army can use to identify high-risk soldiers without undertaking expensive one-on-one medical assessments, the study’s lead author, Anthony Rosellini, a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School in Boston, said in a college news release.
